Microstructure and mechanical property of rolling strengthened tungsten alloy

The microstructure and mechanical properties of cold rolled 95W tungsten alloy were studied. The strength properties were tested longitudinally and transversely to investigate the effect of rolling deformation on the material property.The results show that increase of rolling deformation level leads to fibrous microstructures,strength improvement and elongation reduction.

The microstructure in rolled tungsten alloy shows that tungsten particles turn to be fibrous and the binding phase distributes homogeneously around tungsten particles.At 89.9% deformation level,tensile strength of 95W is 1385 MPa,elongation is 3%.
